Join Flow Lab - Round 3

Flow Lab is a monthly series of Flow Games hosted by a global team of Flow Game Hosts spanning across 5 continents. An idea initiated by Amanda Zamparo (São Paulo), this initiative adds a global flavour to the monthly Flow Games we are hosting. Personally, it has been an incredibly fulfilling collective enquiry into questions that matter to a wide cross-section of people from around the world in this moment in time.

In April, we had Round 2 of the Flow Lab. I co-hosted the Flow Game with Arvind, and we were joined by 9 players from different walks of life, each carrying a burning question that mattered to them.

Questions that flowed into the space for collective enquiry in this edition of the game had a theme of life transitions. Each player channelled one aspect of the collective inquiry.

Questions

• What is my role in creating balance in life?

• How do I lead for myself and garner support?

• What does balance mean between the essential and the sustainable?

• What does an anchor mean for me in times of chaos?

• To what extent could my work represent my values while being cognizant to personal life?

• What does sustainable devotion look like for me?

• What is stopping me from creating things I love professionally?

• What kind of structure would support my workspace?

Key Insights

• The need to attract “stillness” and build relationships beyond transactional professionalism. How can we bring more parts of ourselves into the relationship to build a community for ourselves?

• Becoming aware of the tension between personal purpose and family expectations in the context of financial stability. What is the new lens or frame from which I can look at the idea of “wealth”? What would it look like beyond wealth as merely money?

• The need to shift from passively waiting for things to change to an active, playful engagement, focusing on kindness to self and family.

• A shift of focus from future worries to present needs, specifically prioritising relationships as the current anchor.

• A re-evaluation of the “leader vs follower” dynamic, suggesting core values should be a non-negotiable “lighthouse” regardless of one’s role in the system.

• What are our existing sources of support, including teachers and ancestors? What is the dynamic between being a student and a teacher?

• Revelation of a lack of self-belief as the primary internal block, not an external fear.

• A shift from solving for current restrictions to first envisioning an inspiring possibility (e.g., a team) to inform a supportive structure.

I was excited to bring the Flow Game to Kerala for the first time. And it was made sweeter by the fact that the group was keenly invested in the art of facilitation.

One of the many gifts of playing Flow Game is a deepening and sharpening of questions that matter to you. Being the first Flow Game experience for all the participants in today’s game, we spent time in Question Cafe to refine and sharpen the questions that each person brought to the game.

Soon you realise that no question is really personal. The deeper one goes into their own questions, the more universal it becomes and it resonates with the whole group. Each person becomes a channel for a certain aspect of the theme to emerge into the collective space.

Some questions that deeply resonated with me in today’s game are:

“What are the deepest fears that that is stopping me from expanding my venture to its fullest?”

“How can I engage with the fear of navigating an unchartered path?”

“What are my fears and how do I overcome to be truly happy?”

“Why am I afraid to start over?”

Over the 2.5 hours, we connected with each other at a deeper level tapping into the collective intuitive wisdom of the group members in moving from the question to the quest that it is pointing each of us towards.

I am once again in touch with the power of discovering and staying with great questions. It is truly an art in itself.

Over the past one month, at one level there was the reality of a growing uncertainty of my nation edging towards war. Old ways of being giving way to new. If one need to create a different reality and possibility to lean into, it is important to ask the right questions. That is where the power of Flow Game never ceases to amaze me.

This sharing captures many of the core elements of the Flow Game succinctly, viz., new perspectives, intuition, play, and flow.

The format of the game enables one to discover a question that really matters to them and this sets the energetic field for the Flow Game to tap into the collective intuitive wisdom of the whole group.

And in no time, one finds that all the questions that came into the space channelled by the group members are so relevant for each player. Nothing is personal anymore, and everything is personal at the same time. That is the magic of Flow Game!

Flow game is magical! I felt stuck in a certain aspect of life and got answers so clearly. Most importantly I realised the importance of having the right questions which further leads us to our destined path! An Invitation

Every game requires a field in which it can be played out. Depending on the kind of game you choose, you end up playing in a different field.

What field have you chosen to play in the game of life?

Is it serving you at this moment in time?

If not, what creates the field for a transformation to emerge?

Last week I had the opportunity to host a beautiful Flow Game in Mumbai, where I had a visceral experience of the power of a field of possibility co-created by seekers from different walks of life. Eighteen of us from diverse fields - facilitators, healers, artists, media and corporate professionals - were brought together by the Flow Game to collectively enquire into some deeply held questions around life and its threshold.

Each of us entered the space and created the field for our manthan (churn) with the questions sharpened through the Question Cafe. I love such moments. When the preparation and build up enters a threshold that is pregnant with the possibility of a shift though it is still in the unknown. A sweet uncertainty.

I received the gift of an invitation to acknowledge and own up to how I am already living my dream:

• Of living a life in alignment with who I am, while exploring with curiosity and passion the numerous other possibilities

• Of having the privilege to do work that really matters for today’s times - bringing healing, well-being, and nurturing leaders and change makers who can create the ripple effect.

• Of creating an abundance of time to make friends, have conversations, travel the world, and practice living a life anchored in a pursuit in happiness and love.

I was also fortunate to have received powerful questions for reflection from the Wisdom Council, especially on how I can be more receptive to the love that is already available around me to flow into my being and life.

Stepping into the field of the Flow Game is like stepping into a river. You never step into the same river twice. Likewise, each group brings its unique wisdom to be channelled for the most appropriate nudges and mirrors in the here and now.
